Advanced Auditing
This course is a continuation of Auditing I with an introduction to specialized audit tools integrating sampling methods with data analysis into the audit process. The course uses a process-based approach by introducing students to the audit procedures used to test specific financial statement accounts applying analytical procedures, risk assessment, tests of controls, and substantive tests of accounts and balances to determine with reasonable assurance the fairness of presentation using the assertions related to the accounts. Students will also determine the appropriateness of disclosures related to the accounts tested. Emphasis is placed on auditing applications, analysis, and reporting results through the use of an appropriate audit report.
