The program equips students with critical thinking skills to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and synthesize diverse perspectives for a deep understanding of complex issues. It enhances effective and persuasive communication, both orally and in writing, adapting styles for different contexts. Students integrate knowledge from various disciplines to address real-world problems and innovate solutions. They compare and contrast diverse viewpoints, discuss ethical behavior, and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations, showcasing their problem-solving skills in a culminating capstone project.

Finish in as few as 18 months! With 9 courses (at 8 weeks each) and only 36 hours needed for degree completion, students can finish in less than two years or complete the program over a longer period of time.

As a part of their course work in ILS-405, students will develop a capstone project that
demonstrates mastery of program learning outcomes while establishing connections between
their academic journey and personal/professional aspirations. They will inventory key learning
outcomes and reflect on how each outcome contributed to their critical thinking skills,
interdisciplinary understanding, and ability to analyze complex issues.

A full-time student completes 24 credit hours per year (eight 3-credit-hour courses), organized into three terms (Fall, Spring and Summer).
Both the Fall and Spring terms consist of three sequential (non-consecutive) 6-week blocks, while the Summer term is comprised of two sequential (non-consecutive) 6-week blocks.
A full-time student with no transfer credit or credit for prior learning credit would take approximately five-and-one-quarter years to complete their degree. Depending upon student goals, outside commitments, transfer credit accepted and the student’s level of academic achievement, it is reasonable to assume that a student could complete the program in a shorter time frame. Students will develop a schedule to completion with their academic counselor.
