Early Childhood Curriculum Design

This course prepares students to design, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children in preschool and pre-K settings. Grounded in current research and best practices, students will explore how to create engaging, inclusive, and responsive learning experiences across key domains—language, literacy, math, science, social-emotional development, and the arts. Emphasis is placed on culturally responsive curriculum design, observation-driven planning, and integrated, play-based approaches to learning. Through weekly assignments and a culminating curriculum portfolio project, students will demonstrate their ability to thoughtfully plan and reflect on early childhood curriculum that supports the whole child and promotes equity in diverse learning environments.
