History and Systems of Psychology
This course addresses the history and systems of psychology as a domain of science and as a practice specialization in the human services field. This includes ideas (and individuals) that have shaped our understanding of the human psyche and how it adapts to normative and non-normative phenomenon. In addition to the traditional view of the history of psychology, the role of social processes such as stereotyping and discrimination, reformation, cultural and economic change that have limited and enhanced the profession are discussed.
