Health, Safety and Nutrition

This course explores the fundamental principles of health, safety, and nutrition as they pertain to the well-being of young children in early childhood settings. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of practices that promote physical health, prevent injury, and support optimal nutrition to foster children's growth and development. Through a blend of theory and practical application, students will learn to design and implement policies and procedures that create safe and healthy learning environments, including strategies for emergency preparedness and response. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to advocate for and contribute to environments that support the holistic development of young children, ensuring their health and safety are prioritized.
