Understanding the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
The course is constantly updated to be current with the PRESIDENT’S EXPORT CONTROL REFORM INITIATIVE.
This course provides a strong understanding of the current International Traffic in Arms Regulations (Code of Federal Regulations volume 22, parts 120-130 (22 CFR 120-130)) as required for successful compliance in day-to-day operations as well as strategic planning. In additional the main provisions of the Arms Control Act and others federal statutes referred to by the Act (in the United States Code, volumes 8 and 22: (8 USC 1101, 8 USC 1324, 22 USC 2794 and 2779)). Regulations of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (31 CFR 500-599) are also considered. The course material is updated frequently as new regulations and changes to the regulations are announced.
This course is designed to assist those who are or aspire to be responsible for corporate export compliance to understand the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. The focus of this six-week, online course is on current ITAR regulations, regulations of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and appropriate portions of the United States Code.
Prerequisite: One-year industry experience strongly suggested but not required.
