This course provides a general understanding of the strategic management of importing goods from other countries. It focuses on the structure of the import transaction in terms of planning, documentation, configurations, legal requirements, and duties. Students are introduced to terms of sale and concepts of negotiation. It is intended for those in sourcing, purchasing, logistics, import clearance, and other aspects of importing. It reviews import topics from the commercial as well as regulatory side. It is not country-specific, and so is designed to be applicable to students from all countries.
