Supporting the Need for International Trade Certification Exam Preparation Training

Recognizing the importance of industry certification, which serves as validation of expertise and proficiency, Dunlap-Stone University supports the efforts of the International Trade Certification Authority Inc and its IIEI Certification program by offering online training to help prepare individuals for their industry examinations.

The university has worked in tandem with IIEI Certification for many years, contributing educational content to the establishment of professional standards within the international trade industry. Sitting for a certification exam is not a requirement for enrollment in any DSU vocational training programs.

Dunlap-Stone University’s Design Method for Courses Supporting International Trade Certification

Each of IIEI Certification’s exams tests a specific body of knowledge. DSU’s coursework prepares students for these exams and was specifically designed by the college’s instructional designers to address these bodies of knowledge, using specific course objectives, outcomes, and assessments to build the requisite skills and knowledge measured in the industry examinations.

DSU’s courses were designed to exceed the industry minimum standards. The college’s experts in instructional design, distance learning, and assessment carefully reviewed the elements tested on the certification exams to develop comprehensive, detailed training that has education value and depth beyond just exam preparation. Developing a comprehensive vocational program required grouping common topics that may be building blocks for several of the bodies of knowledge tested by the exams. Other approved providers have developed their own curriculum to address the knowledge requirements, and may vary significantly in approach, length and content.

Master Approved Provider

Dunlap-Stone University is a Master Approved Provider for IIEI Certification’s international trade testing assessments. DSU trains to the standards developed and tested by IIEI Certification’s various exams. Companies have an urgent need to mitigate the increasing risks of export violations and penalties. Managers need to be confident their employees possess the skills and knowledge needed to prevent violations and to ensure they are in compliance with regulations, documentation requirements, terminology use, and best practices. Third-party training and industry certification can provide that validation.

Individuals train to the standards and sit for industry certification exams to demonstrate that they have the valuable skills sought by employers. Vocational certificates and industry certification can help candidates differentiate themselves from less-prepared job applicants.
