Course Description:
This six-week online course examines the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States and the Schedule B and the rules for classification. With heavy emphasis on the GRIs, it explores duty rates, use of the General Notes, section notes and chapter notes. With many examples, the emphasis of the course is that on completion trade compliance professionals will be prepared to properly classify and apply HTSUSA and Schedule B provisions for their imports and exports. While emphasis is on the HTSUSA, students in other countries will learn the principles of the international system, which can be applied to their own country's application of the core system.
